Watson Burton hires tax litigator, Karen Eckstein
A high profile lawyer who is believed to be the UK’s only tax qualified litigator, Karen Eckstein, is joining Watson Burton as a partner. Karen has moved from Beachcroft Wansbroughs.
Karen’s dual qualifications as a qualified solicitor and chartered tax practitioner mean that she can expertly advise clients on litigious matters involving tax. She specialises in tax-related claims against professionals, as well as dealing with contentious tax trust and estate issues, including investigations. Her experience covers the whole range of taxes, including indirect taxes.
This move follows the firm’s hiring of corporate tax specialist Richard Sowler. Richard specialises in the tax aspects of asset and loan finance transactions, share issues and mergers and acquisitions.
