Elizabeth Small – Tax Partner at Halliwells
National law firm Halliwells LLP has continued to strengthen its London office with the appointment of corporate tax partner Elizabeth Small.
Elizabeth has joined Halliwells from Taylor Wessing, where she was a senior associate in the corporate tax group. Previously, Elizabeth spent eight years at big four accountancy firm KPMG, specialising in the hotel, leisure and entertainment industries and later focusing on mergers and acquisitions work. Elizabeth is a non-practising barrister, admitted to the bar in 1991.
Elizabeth will work within the corporate team in London, providing tax advice on corporate and commercial property transactions.
Commenting on Elizabeth’s appointment, Tony Hennessy, head of tax at Halliwells, said: “Elizabeth is a highly valuable addition to our growing tax team and, in particular, will enable us to enhance the tax offering in our London office. She brings a substantial amount of tax experience in mergers and acquisitions and venture capital related work, particularly structuring corporate transactions to take advantage of enterprise investment scheme and venture capital trust investment relief. Elizabeth’s recruitment shows Halliwells’ commitment to growing this important area of our practice.”
Elizabeth Small added: “Joining Halliwells will allow me to further develop my specialist area of advising VCTs, other investors and companies seeking to list on AIM. I am delighted to be working with such a progressive firm which takes a proactive and solutions-based approach to client work.”
