EY Tax Manager reaches the White House

My mother always told me that if I qualified as a chartered accountant, then I would have all sorts of career options available to me. Needless to say I ignored her and gave up a promising tax career shortly before Andersen’s booted me out.

Anyway, the point I am making is that she may have been right after all. President George W Bush has announced a new CFO at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. John W Cox (a Texan – quelle surprise) was announced as the successful candidate on 2 March 2006. Mr Cox has worked in industry for a while, but was originally a tax manager with Ernst & Young. I bet he never thought he would end up in the Bush Administration !
