Moore Stephens and Macnair Mason merge
Moore Stephens LLP and Macnair Mason are to merge on 1 May 2006
The merged firm will practise as Moore Stephens LLP, with the transaction adding some £4.0 million fee income and seven partners and 46 staff to Moore Stephens LLP’s London operation.
Richard Moore, Moore Stephens’ senior partner, said that there was a strong commercial rationale for Moore Stephens in merging with Macnair Mason. "Moore Stephens is a major London firm and we need to continue to develop our presence. Macnair Mason has complementary skills in a number of business sectors, such as insurance and private clients, which will enable us to service those markets even more effectively than at present. The transaction will also bring additional talent into the firm through their partners and staff and, for example, through the addition of Macnair Mason’s compliance consultancy subsidiary, MMB Compliance Solutions. We are delighted that a firm with such a strong reputation has decided to join forces with us."
Richard Mason, Macnair Mason’s senior partner, said "Being part of a larger firm will result in us being able to give the technical and technological support to our partners and other team members that will enable them to focus more effectively on client needs, as well as giving those clients access to a greater range of services than we currently offer. The emphasis is on continuing to give an excellent personal service to clients, but enhanced by the abilities of a larger and deeper team. Moore Stephens has also made a significant investment in delivering a sound practice infrastructure from which all our partners, staff and clients will benefit."
