Carr, Riggs & Ingram merges with Bearden & Snith
Atlanta-based public accounting firm Bearden & Smith, PC has merged with regional powerhouse Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC, one of the Southeast’s ‘Top Four’ accounting and business consulting firms and a top 40 firm nationally, further accelerating the Alabama-based organization’s status as one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country.
In 2005, Carr, Riggs & Ingram (CRI) was ranked 38th in Public Accounting Report’s (PAR) top 100 firms in the nation and 4th in the Southeast region. With the Atlanta merger, CRI now employs over 340 professionals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Mississippi.
"The attractiveness of the Atlanta market as a whole, and the reputation and abilities of Bearden & Smith, were major factors in our decision," noted CRI chairman/managing partner William H. Carr. "The merger deepens our team of professionals across the firm and is a huge step in CRI’s strategic plan to move into major metropolitan cities."
For Bearden & Smith, the opportunity to deepen resources and provide added services and insights to help clients achieve success was also highly attractive, added Jim Bearden, managing partner of CRI’s Atlanta office.
"The merger with CRI positions this office for even stronger growth in the Atlanta market and Southeastern region," stated Bearden. An added benefit of the merger will be greater access to top talent at all levels. "Talent is the lifeblood of business today, and CRI has a tremendous talent pipeline that we can tap into on behalf of our clients. Plus, their growing regional presence will allow us more visibility in recruiting."
Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC is based in Enterprise, AL and has 13 offices across the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Mississippi. One of the largest regional CPA firms headquartered in the Southeast, CRI offers comprehensive tax, audit and consulting services to Southeastern businesses and individuals.
