New tax roles for Gething and Warriner at Herbert Smith
Neil Warriner has taken succeeded Heather Gething as Head of Herbert Smith’s tax group. Neil is a corporate tax lawyer, experienced in all tax aspects of land and property transactions and tax issues arising in the energy sector. He also has general expertise in corporate mergers, acquisitions and reorganisations and a special interest in indirect taxes (VAT, stamp duty land tax, stamp duty and SDRT, climate change levy) for which he is recognised as a leader in VAT in both Legal 500 and Chambers directories.
Heather Gething is now the firm’s head of tax planning and tax disputes. Her practice includes handling all aspects of tax disputes as well as advising and implementing international and domestic tax planning for a variety of multinational companies with a particular focus on financial proposals. Her clients include investment banks, financial institutions, insurers and multinational companies.
