Ray McCann joins PwC Tax Investigations in UK
Ray McCann has joined the tax investigations team at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Ray has 30 years of experience working in HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and the Inland Revenue, including spells in senior roles in the Large Business Service (LBS), Special Compliance Office (SCO) and Special Investigations Section (SIS). He is the former head of HMRC’s Avoidance Intelligence Unit (AIU), which was responsible for managing disclosures made under the FA 2004 tax avoidance disclosure rules.
Stephen Camm, tax investigations partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, said:
“It has never been so important for a business to demonstrate control of its tax risk. Tax is increasingly complex and HM Revenue & Customs enquiries are evermore demanding. Consequently businesses require an expert understanding of tax legislation and HM Revenue & Customs’ processes. Should they be approached for an enquiry, businesses require skilled negotiators with extensive knowledge of how the tax authorities work.
“Ray’s appointment reflects the continuing growth of expertise in the PricewaterhouseCoopers tax investigations offering. His experience will further strengthen the team and its ability to meet the growing demands for our services. We are delighted Ray has joined us.”
