Mark Otty announces EY’s UK leadership team…
Jan Babiak – Regulatory & Public Policy. Originally in the US, and since 1990 in the UK, Jan has over 24 years experience serving clients and leading EY businesses across several industries, geographies and service lines, most recently as the head of our Technology and Security Risk Services practice. She was the CBI’s First Woman of Technology 2005.
Victoria Cochrane – Quality & Risk Management. Victoria has spent the last 15 years developing and leading our in house legal and risk management group in the UK and internationally. Both Victoria’s and Jan’s roles will also have a wider remit supporting Mark in his position as Chairman of the Northern Europe, Middle East, India and Africa area of the firm.
Mike Cullen – People and Accounts. Mike has been a partner at EY since 1992 becoming head of our Financial Services Advisory Group in 1994. In 1999 Mike joined the UK Executive and from 2001 spent three years on EY’s Global Executive Board responsible for developing and executing the firm’s strategy, especially its approach to major Global Accounts and Industries.
Robin Heath – Operational & Finance Services. Robin was formerly Managing Partner, Operations and a member of the firm’s Executive since 1999. Robin became a partner in 1983 and was the first Managing Partner of our Financial Services practice.
Richard King – Strategic Growth Markets. Richard is a former Managing Partner of our South Region, comprising eight offices from Nottingham in the East Midlands to Exeter on the South coast. As well as having the biggest audit practice in the UK firm it has had a strong reputation for piloting new initiatives in Client Service, Sales, Marketing and People.
Tom McGrath – Client Service & Accounts. Tom has been an Ernst & Young partner since 1989. He is a former Managing Partner of Assurance and Advisory Business Services (AABS) for our New York Financial Services Office. He has served as Global Coordinating Partner and Senior Advisory Partner for a number of major financial institutions and became Global Vice Chair of AABS and a member of our Global Management Committee in 2003. He became Global Managing Partner of Client Service and Accounts and a member of our Global Executive Board in 2004.
Francis Small – Industrial, Commercial & Government. Francis was Global Head of Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) from 2002 – 2005. In July 2005 he returned to the UK as Managing Partner of TAS. Francis has specialised in transactions since 1997, prior to which he acted as audit partner to some of the firms major accounts.
Steve Varley – Special Projects. Steve, a former Accenture partner, joined EY in September 2005. He will remain Head of our Business Advisory Services practice but will lead a number of special projects.
You might wonder why this information is relevant to this blog. I just thought it was interesting that there is no tax partner on the leadership team.
