Richard Casavechia joins Banc of America Securities

Bank of America has announced that Richard Casavechia has joined the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Banc of America Securities as a managing director responsible for M&A tax advisory. He is based in New York and reports to Andrew Bednar, head of U.S. Mergers & Acquisitions.

Casavechia has more than 15 years of experience and has advised on numerous landmark M&A transactions. He joins Banc of America Securities from JP Morgan, where he was responsible for the M&A Tax Advisory Practice.

Casavechia has advised on all types of acquisition and disposition transactions, including spin-offs and carve-outs, share repurchases, hedging of appreciated assets, and cross border M&A and financing transactions. Prior to JP Morgan, Casavechia was a tax attorney for Cahill, Gordon and Reindel. Before that he was a tax associate at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.  Upon graduation from law school, he completed a clerkship in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Casavechia received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Wesleyan University and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School.
