Deloitte promotes two real estate tax directors to partnership
Deloitte has today announced a number of senior appointments to its rapidly expanding specialist UK real estate team.
Four Directors have been promoted to partner. These include:
Jason Davies-Jason has particular expertise in real estate acquisitions, having advised on several large transactions in recent years. He is also a qualified accountant and auditor. Based in Reading, Jason leads the real estate team for the South of England.
Karen McNicholls-a specialist in corporate tax in the real estate sector. Karen has 11 years experience in real estate advising quoted and unquoted groups and non-UK investors. Karen is currently working on the first Real Estate Investment Trusts in the UK.
Stephen Mercer-an IT consultant who specialises in the real estate sector. With 12 years experience as a management consultant, Stephen has worked a number of organisations in the development and execution of their IT strategies to help them meet their business objectives.
Nigel Barker-a specialist in personal tax. Nigel currently heads up the Deloitte London Private Client Tax Transaction Services and Funds team. Nigel’s focus is on tax issues relating to individuals participating in real estate funds and commercial transactions.

The real estate team at Deloitte comprises over 300 professionals with specialist real estate knowledge. Deloitte, which works a large number of real estate companies and fund clients both in the UK and abroad, is growing its real estate team practice to reflect the major challenges and opportunities facing the sector. Over 50 professionals joined the team during 2005.
