Tax and Estate Planning Attorney Joins Loeb & Loeb
Loeb & Loeb LLP has announced that Ms. Regina I. Covitt (“Ginger”) has joined the firm as a partner in the Tax and Wealth Services Department. She specializes in the areas of tax and estate planning, trust and estate administration, and charitable giving and tax exempt organizations.
Ms. Covitt’s estate planning experience includes a broad variety of matters pertaining to individuals and closely-held businesses, including:
- creation and administration of living trusts, gift trusts and insurance trusts
- advising of individual and corporate fiduciaries
- formation and operation of charitable organizations
- advising of individuals regarding international estate planning matters
- probate court procedures
- formation and dissolution of business entities, and
- sophisticated transfer tax techniques.

Ms. Covitt is certified as a Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Court (Central District of California), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Tax Court. Ms. Covitt has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell (the highest rating for legal ability and general-ethical standards).
Ms. Covitt has authored or co-authored a number of books and articles on estate planning, including chapters in the California Continuing Education of the Bar publications of Drafting California Irrevocable Living Trusts (Second Edition) and Drafting California Revocable Living Trusts (Second Edition) and a chapter on community property law in How to Live – and Die – with California Probate (Second Edition, Gulf Publishing Co.). For several years, Ms. Covitt was a guest lecturer in the UCLA Law School Estate Planning Clinical program and she has spoken to other groups about estate planning topics and community property law.
She received her J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Law School in 1981. She received her M.A. from UCLA and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
