Smith & Williamson expands its corporate tax team in London
Nick Cartwright has taken up the role of corporate tax director at Smith & Williamson, the independent investment management, financial advisory and accounting group.
Nick is expert in the tax aspects of group reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals, as well as transfer pricing matters. His clients range from entrepreneurs to multinational companies, particularly in the shipping sector.
“Economic growth in the Far East has, amongst other factors, transformed the shipping industry over the past few years with many ship owners and brokers experiencing significant success,” said Nick. “As time passes, it would be interesting to see shipping once again widely accepted as a suitable alternative investment. I’m certainly looking forward to developing it as a business area for Smith & Williamson.”
Nick is an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a chartered tax adviser. He joins Smith & Williamson from Vantis.
Raj Taank has joined the employment tax team at Smith & Williamson as a manager from PKF.
Raj has over 10 years’ experience in employment tax issues including PAYE and NIC procedures, P11D returns, dispensations and PAYE Settlement Agreements. Particular areas of expertise include employment status, the Construction Industry Scheme and the tax and NI treatment of termination/redundancy payments.
