Eugene Sitarz promoted to VP Tax of First Energy Corp
FirstEnergy Corp. has announced that Eugene J. Sitarz, formerly director, Tax Department, has been promoted to vice president, Tax.
Mr. Sitarz joined the company in 1973 as an accountant for Ohio Edison. He was named tax accountant in 1976, senior tax accountant in 1977 and manager of Tax Planning and Compliance in 1978. In 1994, he was promoted to director, Tax Department. A native of Cleveland, Mr. Sitarz received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from The University of Akron in 1973. He earned master’s degrees from the University in business administration in 1975 and taxation in 1985.
Mr. Sitarz is a member and past chairman of the Edison Electric Institute’s (EEI) Taxation Committee, and member and past chairman of EEI’s Tax Analysis & Research Subcommittee. Mr. Sitarz also is a member of the Tax Executives Institute and vice president and board member of the organization’s Cleveland chapter.
