New CFO for 3 UK is David Dyson
3 UK, the mobile media company, yesterday announced the appointment of David Dyson as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He will replace Andrew Moffat who is planning to move back to his native North East at the end of the year.
Dyson, 36, will join from Hutchison Telecommunications (Australia) Limited (ASX: HTA), where he has been CFO for the past four years. He will report to Bob Fuller, CEO of 3 UK, and will be responsible for financial planning, accounting, internal audit, procurement and legal matters.
Dyson will relocate from Australia to join 3 UK in mid-November. Moffat will stay with the business until the end of 2006 to ensure an effective transfer of responsibilities. Moffat, CFO of 3 UK since April 2004, and before that 3 Italy, has spent most of the past 15 years with Hutchison, many of which have been spent working closely with Fuller. His family are based in Newcastle and he is determined to spend more time with his wife and three young children.
Bob Fuller, CEO of 3 UK, said: “I’m very pleased to welcome David to 3 UK. Having been with Hutchison Telecommunications in Australia for four years he knows 3 well and will be a strong addition to the UK team. He joins us at a very exciting time as we continue to lead the market in both the value and range of mobile services we offer to our customers.”
He went on to say, “I would like to thank Andrew on behalf of the Group for the vital contribution he has made to the development of 3 in both Italy and the UK, since we launched in 2003 and for his work with the Group over the past 15 years. We have made great strides as a business over the past three years. Andrew’s work has been critical in helping us gain a strong foothold in the competitive UK market place. I also thank him personally for the contribution he has made and wish him and his family every success in the future.”
David Dyson said: “3 has led the development of the global 3G market by pioneering this new technology and building a wide range of mobile media services. The company is at an exciting stage in its development and I am very pleased to have the opportunity to join the UK team and keep driving the company forward.”
Dyson, who is originally from Lancashire, is married with two children
