Reed Smith lures James Tandler from Skadden Arps
Reed Smith LLP has announced the addition of three partners to its expanding New York City office. Effective immediately, James Tandler, Patrick de Carbuccia and Michael Pollack will be resident in the firm’s New York office.
James Tandler joins the Tax Group and comes to Reed Smith from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York. He practices broadly in the federal income tax area, with strong experience in corporate merger and acquisition transactions.
A 1992 graduate of the New England School of Law, Mr. Tandler received an LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law in 1993. He is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts.
Mr. Tandler has handled many high-level corporate and partnership reorganization and acquisition transactions, including serving as a lead tax attorney involved with structuring and implementing a number of tax-free spin-off transactions for numerous clients.
“I look forward to providing tax practice support for Reed Smith’s expanding corporate and private equity practices,” Mr. Tandler said. “I also see considerable opportunity to contribute firmwide to Reed Smith’s ability to obtain additional sophisticated corporate work.”
