PwC Senior Tax Manager appointed Technical Director with Jersey Finance
The Board of Jersey Finance Limited has appointed Robert Kirkby as its new Technical Director in succession to David Wild. Mr. Kirkby, 32, is currently a Senior Manager within the tax department at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Jersey. He will join Jersey Finance in February 2007.
An MA honours graduate from Cambridge University and a qualified accountant, Mr. Kirkby began his financial services career in London in 1995 working for KPMG until 2000. During that time, he worked for the firm in New Zealand and in London.
At PricewaterhouseCoopers he worked in London in their Mergers and Acquisitions Tax Department and moved to Jersey in 2003 joining the firm’s trust and company administration department. During 2004, he was one of only 24 employees chosen from PwC’s Great Britain tax team to attend an accelerated 12 month leadership programme.

About Jersey FInance
Jersey Finance Limited (Jersey Finance) has been formed to represent Jersey’s Finance Industry and to promote the Island as an International Finance Centre.
A non-profit making organisation, Jersey Finance is jointly funded from the Finance Industry and the States of Jersey, the Island’s Government. The company was launched in May 2001 and is located in the Island’s capital, St. Helier.
It acts as a central communications point, offering journalists and anyone connected with the Finance Industry, both locally and internationally, up-to-the minute information on issues affecting Jersey’s Finance Industry.
Jersey Finance also aims to create for the Island’s Finance Industry professionals – consisting of over 12,000 lawyers, accountants, banking, trust, fund, insurance and IT support professionals – an environment in which they can successfully promote their individual organisations, products and services.
Following its merger with the Jersey Finance Industry Association (JFIA), Jersey Finance has become the gateway for the Industry, Government and the Financial Services Commission in the handling of all technical matters. Through a newly formed division, headed by a Technical Director, Jersey Finance co-ordinates the consultation process and review by the Industry of proposed legislation and regulation.
The trade associations which were represented on the JFIA continue to play a key role in the process as they did previously, through consultation via the Technical Director.
The Board of Jersey Finance, under the Chairmanship of Pierre Horsfall CBE, comprises three representatives of the Finance Industry, three senior executive members from Jersey Finance, a prominent member of the business community and a member of the Island’s Government, the States of Jersey as well as an independent representative.
In addition to Pierre Horsfall, the board members are:
John Henwood, Chairman of Jersey Telecom Group, who is Vice Chairman of Jersey Finance;
Geoffrey Fisher, Assistant Minister, Economic Development of the States of Jersey;
Clive Barton, Chairman of Moore Stephens Europe Limited;
Robert Christensen, Managing Director of Volaw Trust & Corporate Services;
Jonathan White, Chairman of the Ogier Group; and
Geoffrey Grime, who is an independent representative.
The senior executive members on the Board are Beverley Le Cuirot, Marketing and Communications Director at Jersey Finance, a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Institute of Directors and David Wild, Technical Director at Jersey Finance a former Director within Deloitte’s Advisory and Assurance Division in Jersey. The position of Chief Executive is currently vacant.
The team at Jersey Finance also includes Peggy Gielen, Technical Manager, Helen Johnson, Marketing Executive and Jackie Maratier, Events Manager.
