ABPH ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR

Associated British Ports Holdings Ltd (‘ABPH’), the UK’s leading ports operator, announces that Zafar Khan will succeed Richard Adam as Group Finance Director, with effect from 1 March 2007. Mr Khan, 38, joined the Group in March 2002, and in 2005 was promoted to the post of Deputy to the Group Finance Director.

Mr Khan, an economics graduate from the University of Warwick, trained as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young and holds the Associate qualification for Corporate Treasurers. Before joining the Group, he held the position of Group Chief Accountant with BBA Group plc, followed by European Controller and subsequently Acting Group Financial Controller with FLAG Telecom Holdings Ltd.

Richard Adam said: “Zafar has played an important role in the development of ABPH over the past five years, and I am confident in his ability to lead the finance function, in support of the next stage of the Group’s development.”

Zafar Khan said: “ABPH owns and operates some of the most strategic and valuable port infrastructure assets in the UK and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to contribute towards the next phase of its development.”
