Female CFO at Implats
Implats have announced the appointment of Dawn Earp as the new Chief Financial Officer. She will join the group with effect from 1 March 2007. Dawn is currently Executive Officer: Finance at AngloGold Ashanti, a multi-listed global company where she has been for last six years. Prior to this she worked for a 10 year period at Anglo American.
She is currently the Chamber of Mines representative on the Accounting Practices Board of SAICA and has had exposure to both international financial reporting standards and US GAAP. In addition, she is the Chairperson of the Audit and Remuneration Committee for the Rand Refinery. She brings a wealth of mining knowledge to the group and will be a great asset to the Implats team.
Implats produced 1.85 million ounces of platinum and 3.5 million ounces of platinum group metals (PGMs) in FY2006, making it a most significant platinum producer globally. The group’s operations on the Bushveld Complex in South Africa and the Great Dyke in Zimbabwe give it an attributable reserve and resource base of 183 million ounces of platinum. Implats employs approximately 31,500 people across its operations.
