2 tax partner promotions at Jones Day
The international law firm of Jones Day has announced 45 new partners in the Firm, effective January 1, 2007, of whom two are tax partners.
Lisa Anderson advises on a wide range of U.K. corporate tax issues. Lisa has a strong cross-border structuring and international tax practice.
Lisa began her training as a tax barrister in a leading set of tax chambers. She joined the London office of Freshfields soon after qualification and spent two years focusing on corporate finance tax before moving to Amsterdam to establish Freshfields’ international tax practice. During her tenure in Amsterdam, she worked extensively in cross-border corporate tax structuring, including the AstraZeneca merger and the Syngenta AG demerger and merger. Since joining Jones Day, Lisa has continued expanding her work in cross-border tax matters. Lisa uses her cross-border tax structuring experience in her investment funds practice.

Wade R. Wagatsuma practises in the area of U.S. federal income taxation with emphasis on transactional tax planning and analysis. He has represented a broad spectrum of clients ranging from emerging growth and privately held entities to Fortune 500 corporations. In particular, Wade has extensive experience in representing financial sponsors in leverage buyout transactions such as The Riverside Company, Blue Point Capital Partners, Kirtland Capital Partners, Morgenthaler Partners, Rockwood Equity Partners, The Shansby Group, Sun Capital Partners, Industrial Growth Partners, Resilience Capital Partners, Primus Capital Fund, and Wasserstein & Co.
Wade has also represented larger publicly held and privately held clients in a variety of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, and cross-border transactions. These clients include The J.M. Smucker Company, Roadway Corporation, Federated Department Stores, The Timken Company, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, Parker Hannifin Corporation, Diebold, Athersys, Axsys Technologies, STERIS Corporation, Kaiser Aluminum Corporation, Bridgestone Americas Holdings, and Nikko Materials USA.
In addition to transactional tax planning and analysis, Wade has substantial experience in the areas of consolidated return reporting, employment tax reporting, information reporting, and withholding taxes.
