Credit Suisse Names William I. Woodson Head of Family Wealth Management for Private Banking USA

Credit Suisse has announced that William I. Woodson has joined the Bank as a Managing Director and Head of Family Wealth Management for Private Banking USA. In this role, Mr. Woodson will be responsible for leading the Chicago-based Family Wealth Management group, which provides family office services to high-net worth clients and families, including: wealth planning, investment management, tax, trust and inter-generational wealth transfer strategies. He will be based in Chicago and report to Paul M. Simons, Managing Director and Head of the Client Solutions Group for Private Banking Americas.

“Bill has a long and successful history in serving the complex needs of individuals and families of significant wealth,” said Mr. Simons. “He will be instrumental in leading the group to expand our offering and delivery to this important client segment. We are delighted to have him join Credit Suisse.”

Mr. Woodson joins Credit Suisse from Merrill Lynch, where he was a Senior Partner on a private wealth advisory team focused on providing ultra-high net worth individuals and families with investment consulting, risk management, tax, estate and philanthropic strategic planning. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, he was a Managing Director at myCFO and managed one of the firm’s largest tax, estate and multi-family office practices.

Mr. Woodson holds a Bachelors of Arts in Economics from University of California, Irvine and a Masters of Science in Accounting from New York University, Stern Graduate School of Business.
