BDO Seidman Tax/Business Incentives Partner joins Duff & Phelps
Duff & Phelps, one of the world’s leading independent financial advisory firms, has announced that Scot Butcher has joined the company as Managing Director in the Business Incentives Advisory practice. Mr. Butcher brings more than 15 years of experience in site selection, business incentives, tax planning and financial advisory to Duff & Phelps and has served both in government and industry consulting roles.
Mr. Butcher will be working in the firm’s Boston office. Mr. Butcher joins Duff & Phelps from BDO Seidman, LLP where he built a business incentives and site selection practice at the same time as serving as an international tax partner. While at BDO Seidman, he was responsible for supervising site selection and business incentives advisory projects for Fortune 500 companies, launching an initiative to build a national practice to syndicate state- sponsored tax credits, and consulting with economic development agencies to improve states’ competitiveness. He has also designed economic development programs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and State of Rhode Island and has testified before state and federal agencies and Congressional committees.
