UK VAT Compliance Manager, Leeds, UK

As a result of internal promotion, a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join GE’s Corporate VAT Team. Reporting to the European VAT Compliance Manager, with strong local support, your primary responsibilities will be:
Providing general guidance and advice to a wide range of GE businesses and support services with respect to VAT and Intrastat requirements, particularly with regards to financial and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system requirements.
Enhancing compliance procedures and providing best-practice training to the GE businesses.
Supporting the management and resolution of VAT audits and enquiries from the UK tax authorities.
Supporting the development and enhancement of VAT risk measurement and management tools and techniques, to identify and measure areas of VAT compliance risk.
Providing support to European GE VAT related projects and initiatives as required.
To meet the challenges of the role, you will need to demonstrate high quality VAT compliance experience and an aptitude for financial/ERP system solutions. You will also need to be a self starter with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
