Cliona Kirby promoted at Olswang

Olswang has invited tax lawyer, Cliona Kirby, to join the partnership. Effective May 1 2007 she will join Olswang’s 80 partners across the firm’s real estate, corporate, litigation and media, communications and technology offering.

Having first joined Olswang as a trainee in 1996, Cliona qualified at the firm in 1998 and has been a solicitor in the tax department for nine years. Cliona advises on a wide range of tax issues arising on corporate sales and acquisitions, joint ventures, group restructurings, property investment and the establishment of property funds. Her clients include all the principal funds advised by Delancey Real Estate Asset Management. Her specialism is film finance and she regularly advises a number of the major US studios. She was also appointed as sole tax adviser to HMRC’s Film Industry Group which liaised with HMRC and the film industry in relation to the introduction of the new film tax credit regime, addressing key policy issues and commenting on the draft legislation and guidance.
