Linklaters launches Dutch tax and employment practices
Linklaters has elected Dutch tax lawyer Stef van Weeghel as a partner and employment lawyer Eunice Bruyninckx as counsel in Amsterdam, marking the launch of the firm’s Dutch tax and employment practices respectively.
Stef is widely recognised as one of the leading tax lawyers in the Netherlands. He has more than 20 years’ tax experience and joins Linklaters from Stibbe where he was head of tax.
Stef specialises in both domestic and international tax matters, particularly the tax aspects of M&A, disposals, group structuring/reorganisations, capital raisings, financial products and structured finance transactions. He is also active in contentious tax work, as well as tax advisory work generally.
He has advised the Dutch government on taxation matters, as well as holding a number of high profile teaching positions and being a leading member of several professional bodies.
Guy Brannan, global head of tax at Linklaters, commented: “Stef is widely regarded as one of the leading tax lawyers in the Netherlands and indeed globally. His appointment enables us to meet the strong demand for Dutch tax advice and reflects our strategy of offering market-leading tax advice to our clients, wherever they are based.”
