Promotions at Smith & Williamson
UK professional services firm, Smith & Williamson, has announced a number of promotions within tax services:
Andrew Penman – Director – Private Client Tax Services
Andrew Penman’s work in the Private Client Tax Services department revolves to a great extent around the growing area of international personal tax planning. However his clients also include high net worth families, high earners and entrepreneurs.
“I am delighted with the promotion to Director, but thanks must go to the fantastic team we have at Smith & Williamson without whose support and efforts this could never have happened. I think we have something unique here and it is great to be recognised as being an integral part of it.”
Chris Shepard – Director – Private Client Tax Services
Chris Shepard has been promoted to Director within the Private Client Tax Services department of Smith & Williamson. He specialises in the taxation, administration and accounting of UK trusts.
“It goes without saying that I am very excited about my promotion. I have been with Smith & Williamson for ten years and have seen both the firm and the Private Client Tax department go from strength to strength. I’m looking forward to the future and the challenges it will bring.”
John Rainsford – Associate Director – Corporate Tax
Newly promoted to Associate Director in Smith & Williamson’s Corporate Tax department, John Rainsford provides advice on all aspects of VAT, but generally concentrates on issues relating to the property sector and international transactions. He has been with Smith & Williamson for ten years and was previously a VAT officer for HMRC.
“It is great to be promoted and being given the opportunity of making a difference to such a strong and forward looking team. I enjoy working in the City and look forward to meeting new challenges ahead.”
Rebecca Combes – Associate Director – Corporate Tax (Salisbury)
Rebecca Combes, who runs the Corporate Tax department at Smith & Williamson’s Salisbury office, has been promoted to Associate Director with the firm. She trained with Deloitte in London, then moved into industry before relocating to Salisbury in November 2004.
Rebecca specialises in research and development tax relief, general corporate planning work and employee remuneration planning and delivers numerous seminars locally.
“I’m absolutely delighted with the promotion. For me it’s a great opportunity to expand our corporate presence in Salisbury and it will be exciting to go out and win new work.”
