Fowler to lead Grant Thornton LLP National Tax Process Group
Jamie Fowler, a Grant Thornton LLP tax partner, has been promoted to the firm’s new National Managing Partner – National Tax Process Group position, effective August 21. As a result of this position, Fowler will join the firm’s National Leadership and National Tax Leadership Teams.
The mission of Grant Thornton’s National Tax Process Group, which is dedicated to supporting the more than 1,000 tax practice professionals in the firm, is broad, encompassing not only process improvements, but also internal tool development, deployment, training, and support; external tool and third party research selection, deployment, training and support; vendor and contract management; project management and knowledge management, including the weekly Tax Services Newsletter, Intranet content and strategy.
Fowler has over 22 years leading major large-scale international and domestic restructuring projects for companies nationwide, bringing to bear international, federal, and state and local resources. Prior to joining Grant Thornton’s Dallas office as the Tax Practice Leader in 2004, she was a federal tax partner at KPMG in Dallas, Texas, where she was the tax partner in charge of transportation for North America.

Fowler received her Masters of Accounting from the University of Virginia. She is a member of the Tax Division of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Massachusetts, Georgia and Texas Societies of Certified Public Accountants. Her various civic and community activities include serving on the board of the Dallas YWCA, where she is a member of its executive committee and the Chairperson of its Governance Committee.
