Linklaters Lisbon nabs Rui Palma from Deloitte to be new Head of Tax
Linklaters has appointed Rui Palma, a tax specialist with particular experience in international tax planning, as head of tax in its Lisbon office. He has joined the firm from Deloitte where he was international tax service manager in Lisbon.
Linklaters has been involved in a wide range of tax transactions in Lisbon on the cutting edge of the international market trends. In addition to the most traditional tax areas – public and private M&A, group reorganisations, real estate finance, structure finance and human capital – the tax team is deeply involved in all recent Portuguese market trends: upstream and downstream private equity deals, hybrid finance, non-performing loans, restructurings of indebtedness and ECJ litigation.
Guy Brannan, global head of tax at Linklaters, commented:
“Rui is a leading expert in international tax planning. His appointment enables us to meet the strong demand for Portuguese tax advice and reflects our strategy of offering market-leading tax advice to our clients, wherever they are based.”
