Bailey to lead VAT for PwC UK and Walker to lead Indirect Tax for PwC Australia
Mike Bailey (pictured) has been appointed as the UK leader of indirect tax at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He has been with the firm since 1993 and led the VAT team in Wales and the West before moving to London last year. Mike has a wealth of indirect tax experience and expertise and has been involved in taking a number of precedent-setting cases to the VAT Tribunal, higher courts and the European Court of Justice.
Mike Bailey, indirect tax leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, said:
“I am delighted to be taking on this new role. We have a strong indirect tax practice in terms of our experience and the breadth of skills that our people possess. Building on the practice’s successes, I’m looking forward to shaping and implementing a business strategy that will ensure our services support the needs of our clients as indirect taxes evolve. Fundamental to this success is the development and retention of our people and attracting and recruiting the best talent as the business grows.”
Richard Collier-Keywood, UK head of tax, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, said:
“Mike is highly respected in the marketplace and this, coupled with his knowledge and experience of our London and regional business, makes him a natural choice to lead our national indirect tax practice and continue the excellent growth we have experienced.”
Patrick Walker, who has headed the indirect tax practice for the last six years, is moving to Australia to lead the PricewaterhouseCoopers indirect tax practice there.
