BDO welcomes back Colin Ives
BDO Stoy Hayward’s Professional Services Group has announced that Colin Ives has joined the team as Partner and Head of Professional Services Tax.
This high profile appointment reflects the continued growth and success of the Professional Services team, which is headed up by Nick Carter-Pegg. The Professional Services Group now has over 40 partners and senior staff across the UK and is the biggest specialist advisory unit to Professional Services outside the Big 4. The practice, which advises over 100 national and regional law firms across the UK as well as a wide range of other professional service firms including chartered surveyors and architects, has seen growth in fees to a record GBP14.7m for the year ended June 2007.
Colin Ives has returned to the BDO fold nearly thirty years after starting his career at the firm in 1979. Most recently, Colin was Head of Professional Practices Tax at Smith & Williamson. In his new role at BDO Stoy Hayward, Colin will be responsible for advising professional services firms on tax advice and related matters including international expansion and the opportunities and strategies for firms arising from the Legal Services Bill currently before Parliament.
