Tomkins plc appoints new Finance Director
The Board of Tomkins has announced that Kenneth Lever stepped down from the Board as Finance Director on 1st October, 2007.
The Board also announces that John Zimmerman (pictured), who has been the Group’s Vice President – Corporate Development since 1999, will become Chief Financial Officer and is to join the Board as from today, 1st October, 2007.
Mr. Lever has served as Finance Director since November 1999 and the Board and Mr Lever have agreed that Mr Lever may pursue other interests. Mr Lever has agreed to assist with an orderly transition of responsibilities until 31 October 2007.
Chairman David Newlands said: “I am very grateful to Ken for making such a major contribution to Tomkins over a long period. On behalf of the Board, I would like to extend him every good wish for the future. I am also delighted that John Zimmerman has agreed to take up the role of Chief Financial Officer. I have worked with John for a number of years and wish him every success in his new role.”
Mr Zimmerman is a Chartered Accountant (S.A.) and practised for a number of years at Deloitte in South Africa. He joined Braxton Associates in Toronto in 1990 and then became a partner at Orenda Corporate Finance in 1994. He joined Tomkins as Vice President of Corporate Development in 1999.
