New raft of tax partners at Loyens & Loeff..
The Shareholders Meeting of Loyens & Loeff N.V. has appointed five new partners as of 1 January 2008. These include:
Marieke Bakker (33), tax lawyer
Loyens & Loeff Rotterdam
Marieke Bakker is a member of the Tax practice group. She specialises in mergers, takeovers and joint ventures, buyouts, multinationals and Dutch corporate income tax issues. She is regularly involved in European-Australian transactions. She also focuses on transactions between the Netherlands and Nordic countries and has worked at a law firm in Sydney in 2001. Marieke is a lecturer for the Dutch Association for Tax Advisers, teaching on mergers and split-offs.
Michiel van Kempen (35), tax lawyer
Loyens & Loeff Rotterdam
Michiel van Kempen is a member of the Tax practice group. He advises American, Italian and Brazilian businesses, investment companies and private equity/real estate funds on international investment, structured finance transactions, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions. Michiel has worked in the Luxembourg and New York offices. He has also worked a few months at a tax consultancy firm in Milan in 2004.
Jochem van der Wal (34), tax lawyer
Loyens & Loeff Amsterdam
Jochem van der Wal is a member of the Tax practice group. Aside from international tax activities, he specialises in financial transactions, real estate and investment funds. He has worked at the London office from 1999 to 2000 and from 2003 to 2007.
