Smith Cooper Appoints New Tax Director: Rachel Horner

Burton-based chartered accountants and business advisors, Smith Cooper, has strengthened it tax team with the appointment of Rachel Horner as tax director.

Rachel trained at PwC, where she worked as a tax consultant for three years, before progressing to the role of director of tax at a FTSE Top 50 company. After four years in this in-house role, she returned to PWC in 2006 as corporate tax manager.

In her new role Rachel will be providing specialist tax advice to a diverse range of both new and existing clients.

Her appointment follows the introduction of a specialist taxation division at the company’s Burton office.

As well as offering general audit services, Smith Cooper has a wealth of expertise in a number of specialist areas including investment planning, financial strategy, business recovery and insolvency. The company has offices in Derby, Alfreton, Ashbourne, Birmingham, Burton, Buxton, Nottingham and Leicester.
