Irish Law Firm announces new tax partner for NY Office

Matheson Ormsby Prentice, the leading Irish law firm, has announced the appointment of five new partners, bringing the total number of partners and tax principals in the firm to 78.

These promotions include Mark O’Sullivan who has been appointed as a partner in the Tax Department and as head of Matheson Ormsby Prentice’s US offices in New York and Palo Alto, California.

Mark advises on all aspects of corporate taxation. His primary focus is advising overseas clients establishing operations and doing business in Ireland and advising on the tax aspects of inward investment and structuring. Mark also advises extensively on cross-border reorganisations and financing transactions with a particular focus on structured finance and securitisation transactions.

Mark is an active member of the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA). He has presented papers in Philadelphia and Mexico City as part of his involvement in the Tax Law Commission of AIJA and acted as General Reporter of the Tax Law Commission at the 2005 AIJA Congress in Mexico City. Mark is a regular contributor to the Irish Taxation Review, the IFLR and Finance Magazine and is also a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and the New York City Bar.
