Leading Hong Kong tax litigator to join Clifford Chance
Renowned Hong Kong tax litigator, Brian Gilchrist, is to join Clifford Chance from 1 May 2008.
Brian joins one the strongest litigation teams in Asia, with four partners based in Hong Kong, including leading practitioner Martin Rogers and 40 litigation lawyers working across Asia.
“His courtroom and advisory record in Hong Kong speaks for itself, and he brings with him a wealth of contacts in, and a deep understanding of, the city’s corporate and commercial world that will complement our existing strengths,” said Martin Rogers, Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution for Clifford Chance in Asia. “We work hard to develop and promote the talent within our firm, but we could not pass up the opportunity to add a litigator of Brian’s talent and experience to the team.”
With Brian joining, the practice adds another element to its market-leading corporate disputes capability, in particular, Brian’s extensive experience in tax-related disputes.
A graduate of the University of Cambridge, Brian Gilchrist began his legal career in 1989
with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, before moving to Hong Kong and Johnson Stokes and Master in 1995.
