Stocks to lead VAT at BTG Financial Partners
BTG Financial Partners, the tax consultancy division of professional services organisation Begbies Traynor Group, has appointed VAT expert and author, Barry Stocks, to head up its new VAT service offering.
Stocks has joined the Manchester-based specialist tax, financial and investigations consultancy as director of VAT and indirect tax services.
Steve Bold, partner at BTG Financial Partners, said: “Having already published books, lectured extensively on VAT and worked in the arena for over 25 years at some of the country’s top accountancy practices, Barry is well-placed to drive the success of this new offering.”
Stocks will be providing a broad range of VAT consultancy services, such as advice in VAT mitigation and problem solving, dispute resolution, cash flow planning, VAT seminars and training.
Prior to the addition of the VAT service within the BTG Financial Partners consultancy, Begbies Traynor Group acquired Birmingham-based Shaw Tax in January 2008 – complementing BTG Financial Partners in the development of establishing a national VAT practice.
BTG Financial Partners provides specialist tax, financial and investigations advice, and works with general practice accountants, lawyers and Independent Financial Advisers to give expert advice to their clients.
It aims to develop strategic partnerships with its clients to ensure effective specialist tax advice is used to manage their overall financial exposure. It also assists clients in dealing with Revenue enquiries, investigations and settlement negotiations, where complex issues are in question.
