Taylor Wessing hires PwC FS Tax Lawyer into Dusseldorf office
Dr. Bert Kimpel (34) joined the Taylor Wessing tax team in Dusseldorf on 1 February 2008. He previously worked as a senior manager in the Financial Services Tax department of PwC after several years at the Dusseldorf office of Lovells, where he also worked in transaction tax law and tax structuring.
Mr Kimpel started specialising at an early stage, which allowed him to develop far-reaching expertise especially in tax-effective acquisition finance, funds structuring, devising tax-optimised investment concepts and loss utilisation strategies, as well as transaction management in national and cross-border deals. His clients primarily include banks and insurances, private equity investors and industrial undertakings.
Dr. Michael Schmidt, head of the German Taylor Wessing tax practice, about the new partner:
“The Taylor Wessing tax team is delighted about its latest reinforcement, outstanding tax expert Dr. Bert Kimpel. Given the strongly growing number of cross-border transactions we handle jointly with our UK, French and Belgian tax lawyers as well as the large number of real estate transactions, Dr. Kimpel will work in a very important practice of Taylor Wessing.”
Dr. Kimpel about his change:
“Taylor Wessing’s dynamic approach continues in the tax area. I look forward to further developing the practice and strengthening our market presence together with my colleagues.”
Dr. Ernst-Albrecht von Beauvais, member of the Taylor Wessing management board, commented:
“Only six months ago, we were able to reinforce the Berlin tax team with Thomas Wisniewski, previously Clifford Chance; but we want our tax practice to grow also in the Rhineland. The Taylor Wessing tax practice is becoming increasingly visible in the market and today counts 17 fee earners in Germany and 39 on the international level.”
