Lynnette Bober, a private client tax and trusts specialist, has been appointed National Tax Consultant at Smith & Williamson, a leading accountancy and investment management group.

Working alongside National Tax head, Richard Mannion, Lynnette will be responsible for providing technical and policy research to Private Client Tax Services teams in London and the regional offices.

Lynnette said: “The volume and complexity of the changes to our tax system means obtaining specialist tax advice is more important than it has ever been.

“I will be working with colleagues in Private Client Tax Services to understand our clients’ situations and to provide practical tax advice based on tailored research.”

Richard said: “We’re delighted to have Lynnette on board. Her technical expertise, particularly on residence and domicile issues, and onshore and offshore trusts, will be invaluable to our clients.”

Lynnette is a chartered tax adviser, a chartered accountant and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. She is closely involved with the technical work of the ICAEW Tax Faculty and is a member of its main committee, as well as the personal tax/finance and IHT/trusts sub-committees.

Lynnette is a contributor to Tolley’s Administration of Trusts, Simon’s Direct Tax Service and Tolley’s FA 2007 Handbook. She is co-author of Tolley’s Taxation of Private Property, which was published in December.
