South Yorks Firm strengthens tax & trust teams
Barber Harrison & Platt, South Yorkshire’s largest independent accountants has announced two more senior appointments as part of the continuing plan to develop its specialist teams.Scott Burkinshaw has joined the firm as an associate in the tax department and Liz Rogers has joined as a manager in the firm’s Trust team.
Scott has a wealth of experience advising companies, their shareholders and directors in many areas of tax. These include mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, remuneration planning for directors and employees and general tax planning and exit strategies for owner managers. He adopts a strategic and proactive approach to advising clients, underpinned by close relationships and based upon a thorough understanding of the client’s activities and objectives. This commercial approach ensures that the tax advice is relevant to and compatible with the client’s needs.
Scott joins BHP after a spell working for Grant Thornton in Leeds and Sheffield. He is looking forward to helping Barber Harrison & Platt to fuel further growth through servicing both existing clients and also the buoyant South Yorkshire market place.
Liz has also come to Sheffield from Leeds where she spent the last 10 years working for Deloitte. She is both ATT (Association of Tax Technicians) and STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) qualified. Barber Harrison & Platt has a substantial and very successful Trust department which advises fellow professionals and individuals on the use of trusts particularly in the tax arena.
