John Fanning is new CFO at Babcock & Brown
International investment and specialised fund and asset management firm
Babcock & Brown today announced that it has appointed Mr John
Fanning as Chief Financial Officer of Babcock & Brown effective immediately.
Mr Fanning replaces Mr Michael Larkin who was appointed Chief Executive
Officer and Managing Director on August 21 2008.
Mr Fanning joined Babcock & Brown in August 2005 in the Corporate and
Structured Finance Division. Prior to joining Babcock & Brown, Mr Fanning was
a Partner at Ernst & Young and a Director of Ernst & Young Transaction
Advisory Services (refer executive biography below).
Mr Fanning will retain his Board position on Babcock & Brown Capital
Management Pty Limited, the manager of Babcock & Brown Capital Limited.

EXECUTIVE BIOGRAPHY
John Fanning joined Babcock & Brown in August 2005. Prior to his appointment as CFO he was an Executive in the Corporate and Structured Finance Division and Chief Investment Officer of Babcock Brown Capital.
Prior to joining Babcock & Brown, Mr Fanning was a Partner at Ernst & Young and a Director of Ernst & Young Transaction Advisory Services. While at Ernst & Young, Mr Fanning worked on a range of transactions for a variety of major Australian listed entities including demergers, IPO’s, restructures, acquisitions and divestments.
Since joining Babcock & Brown, Mr Fanning has been involved in a range of transactions for Babcock & Brown and its funds including the acquisitions of Australian Rail Group and eircom plc and sits on the Board of Babcock & Brown Capital Management Pty Limited, the manager of Babcock & Brown Capital Limited.
Mr Fanning is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and holds a Masters degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Dublin.
