Latham’s hires transactional tax partner: Kirt Switzer
Latham & Watkins has announced that Kirt Switzer is joining the Tax Department as a partner in the firm’s Bay Area offices. His practice involves advising on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, private equity and restructuring transactions.Switzer joins the firm from the Transaction Advisory Services group of Ernst & Young LLP in San Francisco, where he has practiced since 2002 and has been a tax partner since 2005.
“Kirt has an extensive background in transactional tax matters and is highly regarded in the field. His skills will support and enhance a range of corporate and finance work, particularly in the vibrant markets served by our attorneys in San Francisco and Silicon Valley,” said Scott Haber, the Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins San Francisco office.

Switzer is a Certified Public Accountant who graduated from University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1992 and received a law degree in 1998 from UCLA School of Law, where he earned Order of the Coif honors.
