Stephen Coleclough elected as president of the Confédération Fiscale Européenne

Stephen Coleclough, indirect tax partner at PwC UK, has been elected as president of the Confédération Fiscale Européenne (CFE), the umbrella organisation of the tax adviser profession in Europe. Stephen will start his term as president in 2009.

Stephen has been a tax partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP since 1997. He became chairman of the CFE Fiscal Committee in 2005, the first indirect tax practitioner to be so. He has been a CFE board member for the last four years. Stephen chaired the CFE indirect tax committee from 2001 to 2004. He has also been a member of the CFE fiscal committee since 1997.
In the UK, Stephen became a council member and trustee of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) in 2000. He has also held the roles of chairman of the CIOT technical committee and chairman of its VAT committee as well as sitting on the CIOT Treasury and finance committees.

The CFE is the umbrella organisation of the tax adviser profession in Europe. It embraces 33 national organisations from 25 European states and within them over 180,000 tax advisers.
