New Tax Principal at Rothstein Kass
“When we opened our Beverly Hills Office in 2000, we recognized that regional middle-market businesses could benefit from the level of sophistication that had already helped to establish Rothstein Kass as a leading service provider to the financial services industry. Throughout the dramatic growth that ensued, we have not lost sight of the standards that have provided the foundation for our success,” said Steven A. Kass, Co-Managing Principal of Rothstein Kass. “As we launched operations in Beverly Hills, San Francisco, Walnut Creek and most recently, Irvine, CA, we have maintained our commitment to attracting, retaining and developing talented and dedicated professionals, and to encouraging a culture of collaboration. Wes embodies the qualities and characteristics that we value across our organization and will be a vital resource to both our clients and staff.”
Prior to joining Rothstein Kass, Wes Barrow was a partner at Grant Thornton, managing a portfolio of clients within the firm’s Southern California Tax Practice. Previously, he was a partner with Damitz, Brooks, Nightingale, Turner & Morrisset, a regional firm servicing high-net-worth individuals and middle-market businesses. Mr. Barrow began his career at Arthur Andersen LLP, most recently serving as partner-in-charge of the federal business tax practice in Los Angeles. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
“As our reputation has grown — both in Southern California and nationally — so has demand for our services. For example, our work with the hedge fund industry has led to growing interest from private equity firms and their portfolio companies. This has led to dramatic growth in our Commercial Services Group that provides comprehensive solutions to middle-market business across a broad spectrum of industry concentrations,” said Marc Wolf, Principal-in-Charge of the Beverly Hills Office. “Throughout his career, Wes has established a reputation for integrity, diligence and intelligence, supporting clients on initiatives including outsourcing of the tax function, preparing the tax provision calculations and FIN 48 analysis. His skill set will complement our award-winning financial services capabilities, while his sector-specific experience working with technology and manufacturing industries will augment our initiatives in these areas. In addition, his in-depth understanding commercial real estate fund companies and structures will enhance the range of services we offer to this community.”
“Rothstein Kass is widely considered a great place to build a career and it is not difficult to understand why. From senior management to support staff, Rothstein Kass is comprised of motivated, passionate and energetic professionals, working in concert to deliver customized solutions to clients,” said Mr. Barrow. “At Rothstein Kass, I have the opportunity to join a dynamic organization during an important phase in its development while continuing to support the local business community that has been the focus of my career.”
