Retired PwC Tax Partner joins Sutherland
Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP has announced that [private]Richard A. Hartnig has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the Tax Practice Group, based in the Atlanta office. Mr. Hartnig, who recently retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers, will advise clients regarding international tax matters, including the tax aspects of cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, financings, cash repatriations and intercompany transactions.
“Richard has extensive experience managing and resolving international tax matters as a result of his years at the IRS and with PricewaterhouseCoopers,” said Tax Practice Group Leader Jerome B. Libin. “He is a valuable addition to our group, and our clients will benefit from his knowledge in the international tax field.”
Mr. Hartnig has more than 30 years of experience providing tax advice to Fortune 1000 and major inbound companies, including leaders in the insurance, energy, paper and building products sectors. Mr. Hartnig has also served with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, and was formerly a partner at Troutman Sanders in Atlanta.
