Jode L. Shaw Joins Ryan as Principal to Lead New Tax Accounting and Risk Services Practice
Ryan, a leading tax services firm in North America, with the largest transaction tax practice in the United States and Canada, has announced that Jode L. Shaw has joined the management team as Principal to lead the Firm’s new Tax Accounting and Risk Services Practice. Ms. Shaw will also be Principal-in-Charge of the Firm’s new Jacksonville, Florida office.
Ms. Shaw is one of the nation’s leading authorities on accounting for income taxes and has co-authored a comprehensive treatise on income tax accounting issues for multinational companies. She is a nationally recognized lecturer on tax and accounting issues, teaches “Accounting for Income Taxes” and “Effective Tax Rate Planning” at Council for International Tax Education and the Tax Executives Institute, and is a frequent guest speaker at the Georgetown University Law Center and Northwestern University. She has over 25 years of experience advising Fortune 1000 companies on federal and international tax matters. Prior to joining Ryan, Ms. Shaw was the Managing Director of Tax Accounting and Risk Services for a major accounting firm, and spent over 15 years with two other national accounting firms providing an array of services related to tax risk minimization, tax accrual, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, international tax, and transfer pricing. Ms. Shaw has a Juris Doctor degree from the Villanova University of Law with a concentration in tax, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida State University.
