Chiene + Tait promotes internally to create 2 new tax directors
Leading Edinburgh Chartered Accountancy firm Chiene + Tait (C+T) today announced the promotion of two key members of staff. The promotions reflect the requirement of a strong tax department, to help clients with changes to the tax landscape.
Lynn Gemmell becomes Director of VAT Services and John Rodger is now Director of Corporate Tax Services.
Lynn joined Chiene + Tait’s Personal and Business Tax department in 2001, as a qualified CA. Following her qualification as a Chartered Tax Advisor, she transferred to our VAT department. Lynn has significant experience in advising on all aspects of VAT affecting businesses across a range of sectors and in successfully negotiating with HM Revenue & Customs on behalf of our clients. Lynn comments “We have a young, enthusiastic VAT team with the expertise required to meet the demands of C+T clients requiring VAT advisory services. We can only continue to expand and develop our expertise further, with a view to expanding our client base significantly and provide further challenging work for our committed team.” Lynn has grown the VAT team in direct response to the significant number of VAT related enquiries received by the firm. Lynn adds, “I hope to bring the C+T VAT team to a prominent position in the market place, with a reputation for providing an excellent, client focussed service.”
John Rodger joined Chiene + Tait in 2000 as a CA trainee and upon qualification, moved to the corporate tax department. He works with clients on corporate tax planning, structuring advice and tax relief claim advice. John also assists with our property and corporate work; ensuring clients are fully up to speed with the latest regulations. On his promotion, John comments “Tax is an ever evolving and challenging area. I am looking forward to growing C + T’s reputation as a key advisor, by creating and developing innovative solutions to meet clients’ needs.”
