Cox Enterprises promotes Vickers to Assistant VP Tax
Cox Enterprises announced today that Mary Vickers has been promoted to assistant vice president of tax, effective immediately. She will continue reporting to Maria Friedman, senior vice president of corporate tax.
“Mary is a strategic thinker and has developed the company’s tax planning and research process to support transactions, legislative changes and tax savings initiatives,” said Friedman. “She has been with Cox for nearly 15 years and has repeatedly shown a keen acumen for tax related issues.”
In her new role, Vickers will lead the company’s state tax function, including research, planning, legislation and audits for state income, sales, telephony and regulatory taxes.
Vickers most recently served as tax director. She joined Cox Enterprises in 1998 as a senior tax specialist and has held the roles of assistant tax manager, senior tax manager and director of tax. Vickers previously worked for Turner Broadcasting System and in the Atlanta offices of Price Waterhouse and Deloitte & Touche.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wofford College, a master’s degree in taxation from Georgia State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
