Martin Bünning joins Jones Day’s Tax Practice in Frankfurt
Dr. Martin Bünning (43) joined Jones Day’s Tax Practice in Frankfurt as a partner on January 1, 2011. He was previously a Partner for GSK Stockmann & Kollegen in Frankfurt.
Recently, his practice has focused primarily on tax-related advice for the real estate sector, as well as international real estate funds.
“I am looking forward to further expanding Jones Day’s German Tax Practice and to actively supporting the global Jones Day network,” Dr. Bünning said.
At Jones Day, Dr. Bünning will strengthen the tax team of partner Andreas Köster-Böckenförde in Frankfurt and Jones Day’s diversified Tax Practice in Germany.
“With Dr. Bünning’s arrival, we are able to provide our national and international clients with an even more extensive and tailored range of services,” said Jürgen Reemers, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Frankfurt Office. “We are well prepared for the rebounding M&A market and while Andreas Köster-Böckenförde will be in a position to focus more fully on tax issues with regard to cross-border transactions and restructurings, transfer pricing, and value added tax matters, with Dr. Bünning we now have the opportunity to broaden our tax capacity at the intersection of our real estate and private equity practices.”
Dr. Bünning is a graduate of University of Freiburg im Breisgau (Dr. jur. 1996). He has been admitted as attorney-at-law (Rechtsanwalt) since 1996 and as tax advisor (Steuerberater) since 2001. In November 2010, Dr. Bünning was listed as a leading lawyer for corporate tax by the German business magazine Wirtschaftswoche.
