Haskell & White hires Marisa Alvarado as Director of Advanced Estate and Gift Taxation
Irvine-based Haskell & White LLP, one of Southern California’s largest independently owned accounting, auditing and tax consulting firms, today announced the addition of Marisa Alvarado as the firm’s new Director of Advanced Estate and Gift Taxation. Alvarado, a longstanding and well-respected member of the accounting community, brings additional expertise to the firm in estate planning and further strengthens Haskell & White’s tax advisory presence.

With more than 26 years of experience in accounting, Alvarado is well-positioned as Haskell & White’s new Director of Advanced Estate and Gift Taxation. She ran her own successful estate and gift taxation practice prior to joining Haskell & White. Earlier, Alvarado served as the Tax Managing Director at McGladrey & Pullen LLP and RSM McGladrey Inc., where she was responsible for establishing, implementing and regulating the national firm’s policies related to Estate and Gift Tax Compliance and the Advanced Estate and Gift Tax Specialist Groups throughout the firm’s 100-plus offices nationwide. Alvarado also served as Tax Manager at several regional and national firms, including KPMG in Los Angeles.

A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, Alvarado has completed advanced coursework in estate and gift taxation at UC Irvine, UC Riverside, University of Notre Dame Law School and University of Miami Law School. She has received numerous industry awards and has been involved with community organizations such as Girls Inc. of Orange County and the Family Business Council at California State University, Fullerton.
