New Tax Director at Hawaii University – the perfect job ?
Hawaii Pacific University has appointed Jory Cummins to fill the newly created position of Tax Director, effective Feb. 16. Cummins is responsible for oversight of the University’s tax policies and objectives and financial analysis for special projects.
“With over 30 years experience in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors, both locally and the U.S. mainland, Cummins brings extensive experience in the practical application of tax and accounting principles, the development and implementation of tax systems, project management, financial analysis, and most importantly, the judgment to plan and accomplish the goals needed to support HPU as we continue to develop our global mission,” said HPU Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Kenneth Uemura.
Early in her career, she worked for Hawai‘i Loa College, and more recently worked for The Queen’s Health System as its corporate tax manager and at Aloha Airlines as its tax director.
Cummins earned a Master of Science in Information Systems from Hawai‘i Pacific University, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Hawai‘i at M?noa. She is a certified public accountant. She belongs to the Hawaii Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Society of Women Accountants.
