Baker & McKenzie relocates Sophie Jouniaux from Paris to Abu Dhabi
Baker & McKenzie announced that Paris Tax Partner Sophie Jouniaux has relocated to the Firm’s Gulf practice in Abu Dhabi.
Sophie Jouniaux’s practice focuses on international corporate tax law, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, international tax planning and restructuring. Sophie Jouniaux joined Baker & McKenzie in September 2002 and became partner in January 2008. Prior to joining the Firm, she practiced French and international tax law at Andersen Legal in Paris and taught French and international corporate tax law at the Hautes Etudes Commerciales and at the University of Montpellier I.
Commenting on Sophie Jouniaux’s appointment, Borys Dackiw, Managing Partner of the Firm’s Gulf Region stated, “Sophie has extensive experience in international tax planning and transactional tax work for major corporations, including tax optimization. Her arrival adds a new dimension to our practice in the Gulf. Sophie is also a member of Baker & McKenzie’s Global Wealth Management Group and will be working closely with private banking, wealth management and family office contacts in the region.”
